If a career in libraries is appealing, Boroondara Library Service is looking for a positive and self-motivated individual with a strong customer focus, to join our team of staff committed to providing high quality library experiences to the Boroondara community. This ongoing part time position will work 17.5 hours per week (across Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday). Weekend and evening work is required as part of this position.
To be successful you will need a relevant post-secondary qualification, high level computing skills, including web tools and social media, along with proven versatility and flexibility to manage time and plan work according to demand. Familiarity with and/or knowledge of other language(s) and culture(s) in particular Mandarin/ Cantonese, and an awareness of the diversity of the community will be highly regarded.
An initial induction program of eight (8) days will be required. During the induction period, the successful applicants will be required to work 7 hour days, across Monday to Friday. Once the induction period is complete, the successful applicant will revert to permanent part time hours.
