Library Officer (Children’s Services)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with a strong customer focus, to join our team of staff committed to providing high quality library experiences to the Boroondara community. This is a limited tenure full time position until 31 May 2020. Regular weekend and evening work is required.
Along with general library duties, this role is responsible for preparing for and delivering programs for children and teenagers, participating in outreach programs to kindergarten and child care centres, and assisting with collection maintenance tasks.
This is an ideal opportunity for a self-motivated individual who enjoys working with people in a busy customer service environment, who has exceptional people skills, especially in relation to children, and is highly organised.
To be considered for this role you will have a relevant post-secondary qualification, library experience, preferably in a public library and demonstrated knowledge of relevant consumer hardware & software. Familiarity with and/or knowledge of relevant other language(s) and culture(s) plus awareness of the diversity of the community, excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also integral to this role.
